Updated on September 6, 2014

Picture Discs

My Chemical Romance loves to release unique vinyl for their fans that are record collectors. For every album they've released they have also released at least one 45 that has one of the album's singles. Most of these have been picture discs. This article will give the details for all of My Chemical Romance's picture discs.

This article only has information about the picture discs, but if you would like to read about My Chemical Romance's other unique vinyl (including their very first 45s), visit my article about my rare record collection.

Helena

Helena, released in 2005, is the first picture disc for Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. It has two stills from the video on either side. On the front is the woman in the coffin. On the back is one of the dancers dancing in the rain, holding a red umbrella. If you have seen the video you may remember that the umbrellas were black on the top with a red underside. The B-side track is I'm Not Okay (I Promise) (live).

Ghost of You

Ghost of You, released in 2005, is the second picture disc for Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. On the front of the disc is five men (probably the band, but you can't see their faces) dressed in full army gear with their backs to the camera. The back of the disc is a picture of storm clouds over a field. The B-side track is Helena (live).

Welcome to the Black Parade

For their Black Parade album My Chemical Romance went crazy with the picture discs. They released eight picture discs for The Black Parade, two for each single.

Welcome to the Black Parade is the first single off The Black Parade. It was released in 2006. Both picture discs have the band logo and "Welcome to the Black Parade" written on the front and stills from the video on the B side. The first release has a picture of the Patient looking out at a masked crowd. The B-side track is Welcome to the Black Parade (live). The second release has a picture of the band in their Black Parade uniforms with the Patient at the very bottom and two women (Fear and Regret) on either side of him. The B-side track is Heaven Help Us, a song that is not on the album.

I Don't Love You

I Don't Love You, from The Black Parade, was released in 2007. Both versions have a picture of the band performing on the B side. On the front of the first version is a picture of a couple staring out at a field. The B-side track is House of Wolves (live). The second release has a picture of two hands reaching for each other on the front. The B-side track is Cancer (live).

Teenagers

The Teenagers picture discs were released in 2007. The fronts of both discs contain a picture of a nuclear bomb going off with the tell-tale mushroom cloud. The backs of the discs have the word "Teenagers" across the disc with pictures of teenagers with their faces X-ed out in the background. It's different people on each disc. The first release has Mama (live) for the B-side track. The second release's B-side track is Dead! (live).

Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)

Na Na Na is the only 7" vinyl that was released for Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. It was released on Record Store Day in 2011. The front has a picture of the girl from the videos for Danger Days. She's leaning out of a car and looks to be singing. (She is a young actress named Grace Jeanette Clarke). The back has the word "Boom" drawn on the bottom with various gauges on the top. The B-side track is Zero Percent, which does not appear on the album.

Watchmen

My Chemical Romance did a cover of Bob Dylan's Desolation Row for the Watchmen movie. The picture disc is 12" vinyl with the smiley face logo with a little blood on it on the front and a scene from the movie on the back. (The scene is Rorschach looking out at the street holding the smiley face pin that belongs to the Comedian). My Chemical Romance's cover of Desolation Row is the A-side track. The B-side track is Tyler Bates's Prison Fight. (There were several more 7" picture discs released in relation to the film's soundtrack but none of those have My Chemical Romance songs on them).

All of the above pictures not associated with Amazon are pictures of my personal collection, taken by me.
